Greetings, all! My name is Dr. Ami Stearns and I'm an assoc professor of criminology at Coastal Carolina University (SC, USA). My colleague, Dr. Arden Richards-Karamarkovich, and I are conducting a qualitative study on faculty who hold abolitionist perspectives and teach/or have taught college courses in jail or prison settings. We are exploring how abolition-minded faculty who teach behind bars navigate the tension between their belief system and these carceral spaces.
