Research Participation Opportunity: Emotional Experiences of Formerly Incarcerated Adults

Hello! My name is Chelsie Nicholson, and I am a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. candidate at Alliant International University and a Psychology Intern at Salinas Valley State Prison. My dissertation focuses on understanding emotional experiences among adults with lived experience in the justice system, with the goal of supporting future research, services, and advocacy that better reflect the realities of justice-impacted individuals.

I am currently seeking participants who meet the following criteria:

• 18 years or older
• Formerly incarcerated in prison
• Able to read and write in English

What participation includes:
Participants acknowledge informed consent, complete a brief demographic questionnaire, and respond to five short surveys. Approximate time required is 15–20 minutes.

Unfortunately, funding was not available for this project, so compensation cannot be offered. I want to acknowledge the value of your time and fully respect anyone’s decision not to participate for this reason.

If you are eligible and interested, you can access the survey here. I have also included a flyer with a QR code with an embedded hyperlink to share with others, as well as an infographic providing additional information about my study.

Thank you to anyone who participates! Your voice and lived experience are deeply valued in this work!

Additionally, please feel free to share this opportunity with your networks or with anyone who meets the criteria and is interested in participating. Thank you for your time and support!
