The Access to Justice Conference brings together community members, legal advocates, judges, attorneys, and policymakers from across Washington State to build a shared vision and learning space for advancing justice in our civil legal systems.
This year’s theme—Finding Joy in Justice Work: Centering Hope and Community Care—focuses on uplifting Indigenous approaches to justice that emphasize resilience, healing, and the power of community.
Over the years, the conference has shifted from centering legal professionals to elevating the lived expertise of impacted communities. This year, we center Indigenous voices because of the deep wisdom they hold in embodying the theme. For generations, Indigenous communities have modeled what it means to survive and thrive through collective care, restorative practices, and shared strength.
This emphasis does not exclude other voices. We welcome all communities engaged in justice work and encourage everyone to reflect on how Indigenous values can strengthen our collective movement for equity. We are stronger together—at the intersections of our experiences—not in silos.
This is a hybrid conference.
The in-person event will take place on the ancestral lands of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, at the Yakima Convention Center. All sessions will also be available via livestream.
